JICAボランティア事業の理念

「JICAボランティア事業の理念」の講義の中で日本人ボランティアは他国の国際ボランティアよりも
評判がいいという話があった。

講師の方によると、日本人は最初から現地の人に指示を出さない点が評価されているとのこと。
さらに指示を出さない理由として日本人は語学ができないからということを発言をされた際、
会場には笑いが起こった。

語学ができないからという理由もあるかもしれないが、それ以上に、国民性の違いも大いに関係すると思う。

日本人は海外で人に道を尋ねるとき、ガイドブックを片手に現地の言葉を使用して話しかけようとする。しかし、日本に来ている外国人は臆することなく自分たちの言葉で日本人に道を尋ねてくる。

この日本人の積極性の無さが語学以上に現地の人へいきなり指示を出すことをためらわてせている原因の一つかもしれない

In the lecture "The philosphy of JICA volunteers project",
The speaker said that Japanese volunteers got better appreciations than other country volunteers.
since they didn't order many things to local people when their actions began.

When the speaker said that more reason for it is Japanes was poor at speaking foreign language,
the audience laughed together.

However I think japanese volunteer's good appreciations is owing to not only the lack of language abilities
but the differnces of the national characters

Japanese people in overseas ask local people the way in foreign language with having a guidebook.
On the other hand, foreign people in Japan ask Japanese people the way in their own language with no fear.

I think that The lack of positive is one of the reason that Japanese people hesitate to order many things local people
when their actions begin.
