派遣前訓練17日目

昼休みの間にNTCの所長と面談を行った。

派遣国や経歴等を考慮して、
班から数人の代表者が１対１で所長との面談を行うことになっている。

面談会場は所長室。
所長室には一般の会社の社長室同じように、応接用のソファがあり、
そのソファに腰掛けて２０分ほど面談を行った。

主に志望動機と帰国後の進路について質問があった。

志望動機としてはもともと海外に興味があったことと、
帰国後は１２月末に退職した会社に再入社する旨を伝えた。
あとはそう考えたプロセスについて説明をした。

所長からは考えがしっかりしているので大丈夫だねという趣旨のメッセージをもらった。

帰国後の進路がしっかりしていないと、結構突っ込みを受けるらしい。
事実、いろいろと突っ込みを受けた隊員候補生もいた。

海外経験が長い所長としては、２年しかない青年海外協力隊を目的ではなく
今後の人生の通過点としてとらえてほしいということを伝えたかったのだと思う。

Friday, January 23
I had an interview with the president of NTC at lunch break.

With due consideration of each volunteer's host country and carrier into
consideration,
a few volunteers from each group have an interview.

the interview was taken at a room of the president.
In the room of president, like ordinaly company's president room
there were sofas for reception.
The president and I sat on the sofas and talked about 20 minutes.

The president asked me two question, motive for JOCV and career after return home.

Concering motive for JOCV,
I told him that I was interested in overseas activities

And after returning home I would join company which I had left
at the end of last December again.

Finally I explained him why I thoght it.

The president told me that I was no problem
because I thought seriously.

If we don't think what we will do after return home,
the president ask us more questions.

Actually the president asked some volunteers more questions.

The president had stayed at overseas for long time.
In his opinion, since volunteers work as JOCV only 2 years,
they may as well think JOCV as step of our long life,
not obective.
