派遣前訓練36日目OV Day

OV Day1日目。OVはOld Volunteerの略。

帰国してまもないボランティアを訓練所に呼んで、各国の事情を聴いたり、訓練生と一緒になってグループワークを行ったりする。

幸運にも自分の前任の方がOVの一人として呼ばれていた。

モザンビークの任国事情についての会議では、医療や治安など各人が気になる内容について質問を行った。

南アフリカからの輸入品が多く、物価は高いので自炊しないときついとのこと。首都から離れるほど輸送費がかかるので物価が高くなるという説明だった。

モザンビーク任国事情についての会議とはとは別に時間をとってもらって、配属先の詳細な情報について話してもらった。

話してもらった内容としては

• 配属先の大学の概
• 作業内容
• 年間スケジュール

それに加えて、実際に一緒に働くスタッフの名前、スキルおよび性格についても教えてもらった。

こちらがほしいと思っていた情報はすべてもらった。情報の他にもペンバの写真や使用していた資料をもらった。

また変圧器など購入しなければいけないと思っていたものも、現地に残しておいてもらえたとのことなので本当にありがたい。

OV day was held from this day to the next day.

OV stands for Old Volunteers.

Old volunteers who recently return home came to NTC.
Volunteers hear from OV about each countries and do groupwork together.

Fortunately, my predecessor was one of the OV.

In the meeting about the matter of Mozambique,
we asked the OV about medical, security and so on which we worried about.
The OV said that in Mozambique there are many imports from Republic of South Africa,
and price was high. So if we don't cook for ourself, we will run short of money.

In addition to the meeting about the matter of Mozambique,
I talked with him about my assignment.

He explained about
・the university where I would be assigned
・summary of activities
・annual schedule
and also taught me name, skill and personality of the university's staff

I got the information which I wanted.
Besides information, he gave me photos of Pemba and
the material which were used in lessons of the university.

I think I will need transformer in Mozambique.
Though I have to buy it, he left transformers and so on in Mozambique.
I had no adequate words to express my appreciation.
